June 12 Charleston

We should be happy and we are, but. Wednesday night we pulled in and almost immediately Jeff and his assistant were on the boat taking a look at the Auto Pilot. Jeff decided the problem was a broken computer and he was pretty sure he had one at his shop.

Thursday Jeff's assistant Steve showed up and installed the new computer. Meanwhile I had asked if they could take a look at the engine valves which had to be checked after 50 hours. While Steve was working down the port lacerate the mechanic, who's name I do not know was working on the engine. Things could not be better. We would be able to leave early Friday morning and be past Georgetown. This letting us stay inside for a rough day on Saturday and have dinner at the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. If you remember this is were they let Kelly hand out the Halloween prizes.

Fast forward, well nothing is done fast so lets just say forward to Friday morning. It is 9:00 and we have not moved. The gentleman checking the valves did not have seals so they had to be ordered. They have not arrived so no one is working on the engine. Jeff wants to take the boat for a sea trial to test the auto pilot. This cannot be done until the engine is ready. The Boatyard forman was hoping Jeff could do this at 11:00 when the engine was finished, but when he phoned Jeff to check there was no answer.

So it is June 12th, 9:16 and we are waiting in limbo. again.

Hopefully more to come.
