December 31 Stadium Bay

For now we are in Stadium Bay. It was used in the past for power boat races. The stadium was the largest cantilevered cement structure. The stadium was damaged during a hurricane and has not been fixed.

This afternoon there was a bit of a traffic jam in the bay when these Fiats showed up.

Skipping ahead for a minute

I still have items to report from the children's visit, but I would like to report on our landing in Miami. We had a very quiet motor down to Governor's Cut. We headed to Stadium Bay and anchored.
After dinner Trish and I were watching TV when the Sykes exploded.
You are right it is only the 30th, but this is what we saw.

A day at the beach

Last week after varnishing all morning Trish said we should go out for lunch. We went to one of the restaurants just down the street.

Following lunch we went for a walk on the beach, It was warm enough to get our feet wet.

On Saturday night there was a great boat parade. I have not put anything in the blog yet because I was trying to upload a video from the parade. For now I have given up so here are some pictures.

Saturday Dec 13 time for the parade of lights

At 6:30 tonight there is going to be a boat parade. As I was sitting below I heard a loud noise which turned out to be a band. A couple of guys were playing on a boat headed for the start of the parade. After I get back from church it will go right by our boat.

Day 109 December 11

We are nicely settled in Fort Lauderdale. We are not really doing anything we would not be doing at home. There is one exception we are doing it in shorts. Today is a beautiful sunny day in the high 60's. This morning it was 52 when we got up, great sleeping weather. We did have the heat on.

The past couple of days Trish and I have been varnishing. I do the sanding and Trish does the varnishing. Today we will put the final coat on the Port rail and hand rails. Once it dries in a couple of days we will turn the boat around and start the Starboard side.

As I was completing this entry Thr Girls came and complained there were not enough dog pictures in the blog. So here goes.

Good afternoon

First I should mention that I got to church yesterday. The priest told a story about a man talking to God. He said that since God was always and forever a 1000 years must be like a minute to him. God agreed that it might be. The man then said since God had created everything a million dollars must be like a penny. God said it might be. The man then asked God if he would give him a million dollars. God said sure can you wait a minute.

The blue boat I took pictures of from the bridge yesterday is sold. I heard from one of the crew on the dock that it just sold for 119 million dollars.

Yesterday evening we developed a leak in our fresh water system. We did not know where or how just that the water pump would not stop. Today we searched around found and fixed the leak. One more problem solved.

At 4:00 we are going to rent a car again and do some errands.
