Today we got a call from AL saying the George would be here in 20 minutes and he would follow in 2 hours. George showed up took the engine apart and left with the headband a bunch of other stuff.
Now the head cargo to a machine shop and have the rust removed. Finally we did get some good news. Only one cylinder has salt and rust in it. George said he did not think it would be a problem. The cylinders could be cleaned where they were.
The next step is Al will look at the head and other parts and decide what has to be done. We do not know when this will happen. Just to get the head off while actually only taking about 4 hours of work took a week of time. We arrived here last Tuesday expecting to see Al that afternoon. We are trying to be patient.
Here are some pictures of the cylinders.
