Catskills to Poughkeepsie Sept 4
Today we got up late and left about 11:00. I am having trouble with the computer and the internet, but will do the best I can. We did pass some comerce to day including a freighter. I have tried to include the freighter, but it turns out it was taken as a movie and thus is harder to load. So for now I will just show you the barge which passed us just after we left Catskill.
More of the Hudson and West Point
Today we are going to Haverstraw Marina. It is suppose to be very nice. We may stay a couple of nights because it may not be good tomorrow. I am going to be quiet now and let you look at the pictures. The first few are West Point.

Good evening from Catskills New York
Today is September 3, 2014 our 10th day. We have travelled 337.2 knotical miles. Our mast is up and the sails are on. This afternoon we got the radar and the wind instruments working. Before I send this out I will check the anchor and navigation lights on top of the mast.
I have just checked all the lights are working.
Tomorrow we are off on high tide toMariner's Harbor Marina. Active Captain tells me that if we eat in their restaurant the dock is free. Seems like a good deal to us. I will let you know tomorrow.
I should mention that Hop O Nose did an excellent job steping our mast. The price was quite reasonable.
I talked to Kennedy and Quinn this evening hoping to talk to their father who had a birthday today, but he was at nh is Wednesday night army thing. I told the grand children I would put a picture of Bella and Lexie on the blog. I hope Nicole and Parker enjoy it also. Nana and Papa love all of you.
Hear is a picture from our boat looking out at the Hudson.

The Mast is up
We have no schedule, but I thought the earliest we could get to Hop O Nose was the 3 rd of September. Here it is the 3 rd and ewe are ready to leave. We are not leaving but we could.
Trish and I are tired having helped where we could and supervised the rest of the time.
Once the mast was up we moved across the lagoon to the marina owned by the same person as Hop O Nose. Our work then really began. Tomorrow we will stay and put the sails up and connect the wiring. We are thinking about going to Poughkeepsie tomorrow and eating at The Culinary Institute of America. For now. Am going for a swim to get cooled off for a Martini.

Day 8 and about 310 knatical miles
We left Waterfort this morning after getting our new navionics apt going. No trouble going through the federal lock. The lock master did not want to know out Erie Canal number, no he wanted our Canadian registration number.
We started down the Hudson River at about 8:30. High tide in Troy was 10:00, so we rode the current all the way down to Hop o Nose.
When we got here the only place to go was the crane dock. The gentleman in charge ask how he could help. We said we need a place to stay and our mast stepped. He said we could stay where we where, but he could not put the mast up untill the morning. We were fine with that and I started getting the mast ready to go up.
I will include a lot of pictures for after all this is The Hudson. Kelly has been practicing her reading so I will start with that.
