Saint Patrick's Day

Some of the family were able to go to my sister's home and celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Trish is walking again

I have not been reporting anything on the blog because there is nothing to report. We are home sitting and watching Trish"s ankle heal. It is very much like watching paint dry. Here is a picture of Trish walking with a cane.

Not much Happening

It is Thursday March 6. Trish, Kelly and I where fortunate enough to be home in Toronto for the record. February set a record by never getting above freezing. The good thing about the record is that it makes 0 Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit seem warm.

Trish is coming along and has reached the stage where she can put weight on the ankle. As she does this in theory it improves the joint, but creates soreness, which then must be dealt with. Both her Physiotherapist and Doctor feel she will be ready to Irish Mist home by the end of April.

We have not been very active being constrained in our ability to move around. Doug Caldwell asked Trish and I along with my sister Joan to join him in Markham to see Jake Shimabukuro the world’s best Ukulele player. Trish could not come so Rolland Ross replaced her. Doug is trying to convince the three of us to play the Ukulele.

Jake was amazing and most certainly is the worlds best, but I wish he would have stopped showing off his incredible skills and played something I was familiar with. The four of us had a great evening, which had started at a fish and chip restaurant for dinner.

Before the show started The CorkTown Ukulele Group put on their standard Wednesday night performance. Every Wednesday night under the direction of Steve McNie a group of between 65 and 85 Ukulelee players play the Ukulele. All are welcomed with open arms. If you are a concert violinist or have just bought a Ukulele come on out you will have a great time. I taped it and will put a little on even though the sound quality is not very good. I have included their web address for those who may like to hear more.
